How secure is my data?

Your files are protected with 256-bit AES encryption and a secret password that you choose before they leave your PC. This extremely secure military-grade encryption algorithm is the international standard for high-level data security applications and has been widely peer-reviewed.

Your files are securely stored offsite in this encrypted state at our secure, carrier-grade Australian datacentre.

Can CyberSecure access my files?

Absolutely not! Every CyberSecure online backup user gets an individual account and password. This means that each user also gets a unique encryption key. This encryption key ensures that your data is securely stored at our datacentre and only you have access to your data.

In fact, even our most privileged CyberSecure systems administrators do not have the ability to decrypt your data - this is important to remember, because if you lose your encryption password, nobody, not even CyberSecure can retrieve your data.

End-to-End Verification

Each file that is backed up to the remote backup servers is integrity checked for CRC errors. Files are verified each time they are written to disk. If any file fails verification, it is retransmitted from your computer or server. This ensures that the data stored on our servers is the same data that was stored on your computer or server.

Secure Offsite Data Storage Servers

Our servers run 64-bit hardened operating systems and are installed in purpose built, carrier-grade Australian datacentre facilities with 24 x 7 manned security, authorised access to enter the datacentre, locked server cabinets with power, fire and flood protection as key features to these high integrity buildings (see below for more datacentre specifications).
