Best Practice Backup Procedures - (CyberSecure Advanced)

Prerequisites

Best practice stores all of its data encapsulated in the SQL database server, normally this is an MS-SQL database server.

To backup best practice through CyberSecure online backup:

  1. Open Best Practice as an administrator user
  2. Open the Setup -> Configuration menu item
  3. Click on the "Database" item
  4. Click on "Database browser"
  5. Enter password
  6. Click OK
  7. Open CyberSecure
  8. Click the Cog icon
  9. Click the Plus Icon to create a new backup set
  10. Choose MSSQL type backup set
  11. In the authentication section enter the Username as "BPSBackup" and the password as the one set up before Continue on with the rest of the MSSQL setup

    12. If you get authentication errors when trying to back up the database:

    • Control Panel -> Administrative tools -> Services
    • Scroll down to "Microsoft SQL server (SERVERNAME)" and right click
    • Choose "Properties"
    • Click the 'log on' tab
    • Click 'This account' and enter your current username's login
    • Click OK and restart the service
