CyberSecure Advanced - What do I do if I have forgotten my password?

IMPORTANT: There are two types of passwords: LOGIN and ENCRYPTION.

LOGIN passwords allow the user access into their storage area.

ENCRYPTION passwords allow the user to read their data.

Forgotten Encryption Password

If you have forgotten your password but still have access to a computer where CyberSecure is installed, you can retrieve the stored password from the client software. To do this:

  1. Open CyberSecure Advanced
  2. Open the Backup Settings
  3. Select the desired backup set
  4. Select encryption settings
  5. On the right-hand side, uncheck "Mask Password"
  6. You will now be able to view the ENCRYPTION password

Forgotten Login Password

  1. Go to the CyberSecure homepage
  2. Click the 'login' button in the top right hand corner of the page.
    • You do not have to enter anything into the login text fields

  3. You should be sent to another login page
  4. Click on the 'forgotten your password?' link under the login fields.

  5. On the page you are sent to, enter either your account email or your login name
  6. You should be sent an email to your account address with your password.
